Police seek man who grabbed register cash
Police are seeking a man who is alleged to have grabbed cash out of an open cash register drawer at a Salina convenience store Thursday.
At 8:20 p.m., the man entered Rod's II, 1313 N. Ninth, and purchased a cigar, Salina Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield said. He then asked the clerk for change to make a phone call.
When she opened the cash drawer the man reached into the register and grabbed cash before running out of the store, Mansfield said.
The man is described as being black, 6 feet tall and weighing 220 pounds. He was wearing a white hoodie.
Mansfield said efforts are being made to convert store surveillance video to a format that can be posted on the Salina/Saline County Crimestoppers Facebook page.
