The Salina office of Hospice Care of Kansas has hired Susanne Holden as hospice care consultant. She is responsible for relationships with health care professionals in the community. Holden is a graduate of Bellarmine University of Louisville, Ky., with a bachelor of arts in communications. She has received her M.B.A. from Walden University of Minneapolis, Minn. She brings with her six years of health care experience.
Also, Tobias Harkins has been hired as a registered nurse and Mildred Ireland as a hospice aide.

Lt. Roger Soldan has been promoted to captain with the Saline County Sheriff's office. Soldan will assume his new duties in charge of the adult corrections division Monday.

Pamela Schneider, of Salina, a representative of Modern Woodmen of America, has been named to Modern Woodmen's 2009 President's Cabinet. The distinction recognizes Schneider's high achievement in life insurance sales and ranking among the organization's top representative nationwide.
