WICHITA ¬-- Bruce Shogren, chief financial officer of Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America, has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of the company's three subsidiary corporations, Presbyterian Manors, Aberdeen Village and Ashfield Active Living and Wellness Communities.
Shogren is responsible for supervising, directing and controlling the business and officers of the subsidiary corporations, as well as developing and monitoring organizational policy, and overseeing activities that relate to the growth and strategy of PMI.
Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America is a nonprofit organization with 17 locations in Kansas, incuding Salina, and Missouri. Its 18th location, Aberdeen Heights, is under construction in Kirkwood, Mo.

Kansas Wesleyan University has hired four new employees. Jennifer Rein is the director of alumni relations. Mary Gordon is the director of public relations, communications and marketing. Sophie Lambis the director of development, and Sherri Gormley is the new executive assistant to the executive director of institutional advancement.
Rein is a graduate of Chapman High School and Emporia State University. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Kansas Wesleyan University. She will be responsible primarily for maintaining and strengthening the ties between KWU and its alumni. She was previously a development coordinator for the city of Salina.
Gordon is a graduate of the University of Kansas, earning her bachelor of science degree. Gordon will serve as the chief liaison between KWU, the media and the public. She also will be responsible for marketing the university as a whole. Gordon has several years of experience in marketing and most recently was the director of marketing and development for the Salina Community Theatre.
Lamb is a Salina native with a bachelor's degree in communication studies from the University of Kansas. She has extensive experience in development and higher education and will direct all annual giving campaigns and assist with various fundraising activities. Most recently, she worked for Bethany College in the admissions department, and has also been a corporate sales trainer.
Gormley, a lifetime resident of Salina, brings 15 years of experience in investment, insurance and relationship building. She is a 1992 graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University.

American Family Insurance agent Daran Neuschafer, of Salina, has earned the Distinguished Insurance Agency distinction for the fifth straight year. Neuschafer has been an American Family agent since 1995. His agency office is at 1528 E. Iron. J.D. Power and Associates conducts the award process, which measures customer satisfaction. Agents must meet or exceed the standards measured on a national benchmark established by J.D. Power.
