Diane Snavely is a new addition to the Norris Furniture team. Snavely has taken several career paths, including owning a newspaper business and a home decor store in rural Kansas, writing poetry, working in Buffalo, N.Y., as a personal assistant for a successful business owner and as a creative display artist at an East Coast department store. With her enthusiasm for design and an eye for detail, Snavely wants to inspire customers with the many possibilities of creating beauty in their everyday lives with the high-quality furniture and wide selection of accessories that Norris Furniture has to offer.

ABILENE -- Paul Schmitt has joined the board of directors of Memorial Health System. Schmitt was elected by Hospital District 1 voters April 5, replacing Betty Noel.
Schmitt is retired from the Agricultural Stablization and Conservation Service (ASCS), now called the Farm Service Agency (FSA), a subsidiary of the USDA. He served the agency for 34 years and retired as a district director. He works part time as an insurance adjuster for Hudson Insurance Group. He has been a resident of Dickinson County for 45 years.

Nancy Kiltz has been named the new executive director of human resources for the Salina School District, effective July 1. Kiltz has been a public educator for more than 26 years, most recently serving as the executive director of administrative and student support services for the Salina School District since 2006. She has also served in the capacities of elementary teacher and principal, assistant director of school improvement, director of state and federal programs (Palm Springs Unified School District in California), professor at Bethany College and director of at risk programs.
Kiltz earned her Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Kansas Wesleyan University and her master's in educational administration at Kansas State University. She completed her Doctor of Education in educational administration at Kansas State University.

Sherri Louthan has been named principal at Lakewood Middle School, effective July 13. Louthan has been a public educator for more than 16 years, most recently serving as the assistant principal for curriculum and activities for Clark County School District in Las Vegas since 2006. Louthan earned her Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Kansas State University and her master's in educational administration at the University of Phoenix, Las Vegas.

ELLSWORTH -- Cashco has promoted Dimity Ankerholz to assistant sales manager/marketing manager, expanding on her previous role with the company as marketing manager. In her new position, Ankerholz will oversee the daily activities of internal and outside sales and assist in the long-term objectives and planning for the Valve Division. Ankerholz began her career with Cashco in 1998 as a research specialist in the Valve Division. She has held the roles of assistant marketing manager and, most recently, marketing manager.
Cashco also has promoted Clint Rogers to general manager from executive vice president of sales, marketing and engineering, effective April 15. In his new role, Rogers is responsible for all activities related to the valve division, which includes manufacturing, purchasing and finance, in addition to his previous duties related to sales, marketing and engineering.

WICHITA -- Equity Bank's Chief Financial Officer, Bruce Benyshek, has earned the designation of Chartered Merger and Acquisition Professional (CMAP) and has been named as a 2011 Wichita Business Journal CFO Award Honoree.
The CMAP certification is conferred by the Middle Market Investment Banking Associations (MMIBA) and administered by its affiliate, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NAVCA).
As of Jan. 6, Bruce was one of only 98 people in the United States to hold the designation of CMAP. In addition, since 1997 Bruce has held the CVA (certified valuation analyst) credential from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, which means he has an expertise in the valuation/appraisal of closely held businesses. He has also been a certified public accountant since 1980 and has held a permit to practice as a CPA in Kansas since 1981. He was graduated summa cum laude in 1977 with a B.S. degree in accounting from Fort Hays State University.

Saline County has hired Cathlene LePage as a part-time file clerk in the County Attorney office. She will file adult criminal, appeal and traffic cases and do general office work.

Saline County has reassigned Brent Melander to administrative lieutenant from operations lieutenant in the sheriff's office. Melander has served 16 years for the county. He will direct supervision to the warrant officer, civil process deputy, intermittent and deputy hire process servers and records supervisor.

Saline County has reassigned James Hughes to Acting Operations Lieutenant from deputy patrol in the sheriff's office. He has served 19 years for the County. He will supervise detectives, deputies, reserve deputies, Mounted Patrol Deputies and volunteers during their assigned shift.

HILLSBORO -- Chad Gayer has been named men's and women's tennis coach at Tabor College. Gayer, a native of McPherson, who has served as the assistant coach for the past two years, will replace Michael Hagen. Hagen, who has served as the head coach for the tennis program since 2006, has taken a position with Stuart Nissan in Enid, Okla.
