Sunflower Bank has hired Chris Yohe as vice president and special assets officer.
Yohe has more than 10 years of commercial lending experience. Most recently, he worked as a commercial loan officer for BANK VI. A 1998 graduate of Fort Hays State University, Yohe earned his bachelor's degree in finance.
Yohe will join the Credit Administration team, based in Sunflower Bank's Corporate Office at 3025 Cortland Circle in Salina. His responsibilities will include working with the bank's large and complex special assets.

Harold Bechard, of Salina, has been named manager of the new Kansas Sports Museum in Newton, set to open in December. Bechard, a Grinnell native, has been the sports editor of the Hutchinson News. He is also the former sports editor of the Salina Journal. Bechard spent 33 years covering sports in Kansas. The sports museum is an affiliate of the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in Wichita. It will be located in the Chisholm Trail Center, off Interstate Highway 135.

Vortex Valves has added two new hires.
Jessica Sander is a new accounting manager. She graduated from Kansas State University with an accounting degree and previously worked at Kennedy & Coe as a senior associate. She will oversee all accounting functions for Vortex's operations in Salina, as well as its European offices.
Nate Adamson is a new design engineer. He is also a Kansas State graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering technology and, most recently, worked for NSK out of Clarinda, Iowa, as a process engineer. Nate will be assisting in product design as well as evaluating manufacturing processes at Vortex.

Angelica Nunemaker, LMSW, has been hired as an outpatient therapist at Central Kansas Mental Health Center. She will be working primarily with youth and their families, including integrating services with community-based services, and will provide therapy when bilingual services are needed. Nunemaker has a master's degree in social work from Wichita State University and a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University. Her professional background includes experience in school social work in Salina, a benefits specialist at Midland Group and at SRS and CAPS.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- David Brownback, president and CEO of Citizens State Bank and Trust Co., of Ellsworth, was elected as a Class A director representing commercial banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System. Brownback will serve a three-year term starting in January.

WICHITA -- Roger Pearson, retired administrator, Ellsworth County Medical Center, of Ellsworth, and currently working on special projects for Salina Regional Health Center, was awarded the Charles S. Billings Award by the members of the Kansas Hospital Association. He was honored Nov. 12 during the KHA annual convention and trade show in Wichita.
The Charles S. Billings Award, named after the association's first president, was created in 1971 to recognize distinguished service and outstanding contributions to the field of health care in Kansas. After farming from 1965 until 1981, Pearson took his first hospital administrator position at Wichita County Hospital in Leoti. He also held similar positions in Ulysses and Iola before coming to Ellsworth in 1993.
