Leora M. Adams

NORTON -- Leora Marie (Cutting) Adams, 75, died Sunday, March 7, 2010. She was born May 4, 1934. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her sons, Larry and Gary Billips; stepsons, Mark, Larry and Mike Adams; daughters, Janet Schmidtberger and Judy Durham; stepdaughters, Sonya Moser and Trica Adams; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight stepgrandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Enfield Funeral Home, Norton. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, at Lenora South Cemetery. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, Humane Society or Hospice Services of Norton County, in care of the funeral home.

Karen S. Davis

EUREKA -- Karen Sue Davis, 63, of Eureka, died Saturday, March 6, 2010. She was born July 25, 1946, in Scranton to Melvin and Nita Jones. Survivors: son, Robert, of Casper, Wyo.; daughters, Vicki Sutton, Virginia Davis and Jodi White, all of Eureka, and Angela Zornes, of Herington; 28 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Donald and Robert Jones. Preceded in death by: daughter, Cherie Roark. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Eureka, followed by interment at 3 p.m. in the Scranton Cemetery, Scranton. Memorials: church, in care of the funeral home.

Jesse M. Malin

HILLSBORO -- Jesse Michael Malin, 29, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Parsons. He was born July 26, 1980, in Austin, Texas.

He is survived by his mother, Judith Malin, of Hillsboro.

Service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, March 15, at First Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro, with Randy Smith officiating.

Memorial funds may be given to the Jesse Malin Memorial fund, in care of Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

Juanita Joy Manion

Juanita Joy Manion, 87, of Salina, died Monday, March 8, 2010.

Maxine F. Mattison

Maxine Fager Mattison, 86, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Holiday Resort Nursing Home, Salina. She was born March 16, 1923, in rural Saline County to Chester A. and Rhoda Rothrock Armbruster and was a lifelong Saline County resident. She attended Brown Mackie Business College and worked for Consolidated in Salina for many years. She was an active member of Church of the Cross United Methodist Church.

On March 11, 1945, Maxine married Harold G. Fager and he preceded her in death June 28, 1971. On May 2, 1990, she married Earl "Junior" Mattison Jr. He preceded her in death Jan. 25, 2009. Maxine is survived by four children, Becky Miller and husband Bob, of Overland Park, Terry Fager and wife Sue, of Salina, Bonnie Fromdahl and husband Dana, of Knoxville, Ark., and Tamara Harris and husband Jeff, of Salina; a sister, Marjorie Lindstrom, of Denver; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She has three stepdaughters, Susan Wisbey, of Beloit, Kathy Mulvihill, of Overland Park, and Karen Larsen, of Salina.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bonnie L. McChesney

CLAY CENTER -- Bonnie Lou McChesney, 71, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Mercy Health Center College Avenue, Manhattan. She was born May 28, 1938, in Clay Center the daughter of Cleve "Buck" and Bertha Mae (Hinshaw) Reed. She was raised and attended school in Clay Center.

On Aug. 21, 1966, she was married to John Lewis McChesney. Bonnie worked as the office manager for Heritage Village in Wakefield.

John preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 2007. She was also preceded by her parents, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter and a brother.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam and husband Steve Graham, of Clay Center; brothers, Don and wife Twila Reed and Larry Reed, all of Clay Center; stepmother, Arlene Reed, of Clay Center; grandchildren, Brock and wife Jeana Taylor, Tyler Taylor and Chancelor Graham; and great-grandson, Paden Taylor.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at the funeral home chapel, with Father Larry Grennan, followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center.

Catherine R. Naukam

McPHERSON -- Catherine Rowena (Thompson) Naukam, 92, died Sunday, March 7, 2010. Survivors: husband, Eugene "Gene" Jr.; daughter, Mary Ann Musselwhite (Ellis); sons, Gene (Anna) III and John (Nina); six grandchildren; 5 stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: brothers, James "J.B." and Robert Thompson; and sister, Mary Frances Davis. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at the Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home Chapel, McPherson. Memorials: the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders of South and Central Kansas, the McPherson Relay for Life, or the Age-Related Macular Degeneration.

Dale B. Peterman

ELLSWORTH -- Dale B. Peterman, 81, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Salina. He was born May 20, 1928, in Ellsworth County to Bert-hold and Hulda Burgenger Peterman.

He was a farmer and lifetime resident of the Ellsworth area. Dale was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Ellsworth. He was a Korean War veteran and member of the Lincoln VFW Post 7928.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include an aunt and uncle and several cousins.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Ellsworth, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, in care of Parsons Funeral home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth 67439.

Jack W. Rose

AGRA -- Jack W. Rose, 92, died Sunday, March 7, 2010. He was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Phillips County to Joseph and Sadie (Lesher) Rose. He was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha. Survivors include his son, Kenneth, of Agra; daughter, Verlene Childers, of Lakewood, Colo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He will lie in state from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at St. John Lutheran Church, Kensington. Memorials may be given to the Agra American Legion or the church.

Theresa Spore

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Theresa Marcotte Spore, 59, died March 6, 2010. She was born June 27, 1950, in Concordia, Kan. Survivors: husband, Guy, of Springfield; daughter, Debora May (Jason); son, Dan McManigal Jr. (Jolene); brother, Mike Marcotte; sisters, Beverly Collette (Don), Janice Hattan (Greg), Jeanette Deneault (Don) and Janell Goedert (Joe); and five grandchildren.
