SANTA FE, N.M. -- Linda L. Norris passed away after a short battle with cancer on Aug. 25, 2010. She passed in Santa Fe, a city she loved, with family by her side.
Born Dec. 30, 1942, Linda loved desert climates, seaside living, cooking, entertaining, interior design, and travel to Europe and Mexico. She worked for many years in interior design at Northgate Home Furnishings and Schmitt Interiors in Hutchinson, Kan., which she owned with her husband of 33 years, Ned D. Norris. She took on leadership roles wherever she lived, serving on many boards. She and Ned lived in Hutchinson for 30 years before moving to Santa Fe, where they spent their summers. Their winters were spent at their home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She was known for her stories, gourmet cooking and decorating taste. She was a loving wife, mother and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Ned, and children Angela, Robert, Cindy, Kevin and Mandy, and grandchildren Rachel, Grace, Erik, Emma and Brett.
A private memorial was held in Santa Fe on Aug. 28 and her ashes will be carried to Puerto Vallarta this winter. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society in Linda's memory.
