Hillary Rebecca Goodyear McKenna, born Jan. 20, 1982, in Centralia, Ill., departed this life Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, in Salina. Hillary spent most of her life in Texas, where she graduated from high school in 2004. She was the only special education student to be on the honor roll for both junior and senior high school.

Her time in Salina was spent studying technology and computer to help her develop independent living skills.

Hillary enjoyed horseback riding and volunteering at the Salina Animal Shelter.

Hillary was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul E. and Evelyn (Woods) McKenna; her grandmother, Carolyn S. Golden; uncle, Donald Jerry Wallis; and her aunt, Darlia Wright.

Hillary is survived by her adoring parents, Paula J. McKenna and Mary Jo Thomas Stedry; aunts, Ruthanne L. Thomas, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Pamela Thomas Mitchell, of Altoona, Pa., and Elizabeth Throgmorton and family, of Austin, Texas; uncles, Bruce E. Thomas and family, of Danville, Ind., and Jefferey and Kathy McKenna, of Everson, Wash.; and a host of cousins, friends and honorary aunts and uncles are left to mourn her passing.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina 67401, with the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating.

Cremation has been chosen. There will be no visitation.
