LINCOLN - The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking into the Monday death of a Glen Elder man who was an inmate at the Lincoln County Jail.
Nathaniel Grabast, 22, was arrested Monday in connection with a non-injury hit-and-run crash in Barnard, said Jennifer O’Hare, Lincoln County attorney.
Grabast was booked into the jail about 7:15 p.m. During routine checks, jail officials found him unconscious in a cell, O’Hare said.
A Lincoln County deputy administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation and an ambulance was called, she said. Grabast was taken to the hospital in Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead, O’Hare said. She was not sure of his time of death.
Details surrounding Grabast’s death are being investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, O’Hare said, but "no foul play is suspected."
