ASH GROVE — An Osborne woman, Rhondasue Nehlson, was killed Wednesday night in a rollover crash in northwest Lincoln County.
Two children riding in a car — a boy, 11, and a girl, 8, of Beloit — were taken to Mitchell County Hospital with minor injuries, according to Lincoln County Undersheriff Les Richards.
The names of the children were not released, but Richards said they were reunited with their parents in Beloit.
Nehlson was eastbound on Union Drive when she lost control of a car while going around a bend in the road, Richards said. They were heading toward Kansas Highway 14 on their way to Beloit, he said.
The car came to rest in the north ditch on its side. Nehlson, 43, was partially ejected and pinned under the car. Richards said she was pronounced dead at the scene.
He said the sheriff’s department was notified of the crash at 8:04 p.m. The crash was still being investigated Thursday.
Richards said the children were wearing seat belts, but Nehlson was not wearing a seat belt.

Yes, she should have worn her seatbelt, but that does not minimize the terrible loss and sadness to her family and friends.
