A colonel with the Kansas National Guard in Salina was injured when the motorcycle he was riding was struck late Wednesday afternoon by a car that fled the scene.
Col. Jeffery Jordan, 47, was eastbound on State Street on a Kawasaki motorcycle about 5 p.m. Wednesday when a Cadillac pulled out in front of him at the Interstate Highway 135 exit, according to a Saline County Sheriff’s Office report. The car left the scene and was pulled over a few minutes later by a sheriff’s officer on Stimmel Road, about two miles away, said Sheriff Glen Kochanowski.
Lloyd Brammer, 57, of Sylvan Grove, the alleged driver of the car, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and multiple traffic violations.
Jordan was taken by ambulance to Salina Regional Health Center, where he was treated in the emergency department.
