Clifton-Clyde School District continues "green energy" education

12/20/2009

Recently, the Clifton-Clyde School District continued their "green energy" education initiative by erecting another solar panel on the front of Clifton-Clyde High School.  The solar panel is connected directly into their lighting system at the school, and it will offset some of the school's energy costs.  (The district already has one solar panel and wind turbine in place at CCHS that reduces energy consumption.)  In the spring, the "green" district is constructing a large greenhouse and a water aquaculture system for students to use as well.  From these environmental education accomplishments, the school has been asked to host the July 2010 Kansas Green Schools Summit by the Kansas Association of Conservation and Environmental Education.
