Salina man accidentally shoots himself in foot

A Salina man shot himself in the toe Thursday morning while cleaning his gun in his home, a police department spokesman said.
Levi Riley, 30, told Salina police officers he was attempting to make sure the semi-automatic handgun was safe shortly after 9 a.m. when the gun fired, said Lt. Scott Siemsen, criminal investigation commander with the Salina Police Department.
Riley was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment.
