At the conclusion of a three-day trial Friday, a mistrial was declared after a Saline County District Court jury could not reach a unanimous verdict in the state's case against James A. Floyd Jr.
Saline County Attorney Ellen Mitchell, who prosecuted the case, said a new trial date has been scheduled in April.
Mitchell presented evidence supporting 19 counts against Floyd, including aggravated assault, kidnapping, aggravated robbery and intimidation of a witness.
Attorney Jack Sheahon, who represented Floyd, presented evidence in his defense.
Floyd was arrested in July, accused of robbing four people at gunpoint after receiving permission to enter their Salina house and use the restroom. A police investigation of the March 19 incident resulted in arrest warrants being issued for Floyd and another man in connection with the robbery.
Authorities allege Floyd entered the bathroom and then exited brandishing a firearm. More than $1,000 in cash, prescription pain medication, a cellphone, a laptop computer, DVDs and CDs were stolen, according to police.
