A bronze sculpture of a small boy carrying a very large fish reminded Mark Berkley of his Tescott childhood.
Berkley, chairman of the board of the Bank of Tescott, recalled the many times he hauled strings of fish home from the Smoky Hill River as a boy.
"I was always going after a big fish," he said.
He’s now netted the big one.
A sculpture called "Fish Tale," one of 19 artworks that make up the inaugural Salina Sculpture Tour project, has been purchased by the Bank of Tescott.
The bronze-cast artwork, created by sculptor Gregory Johnson of Cumming, Ga., was purchased for about $8,400 and will be displayed on the bank’s property at 600 S. Santa Fe.
Read more about the purchase in Wednesday's Journal.
