Kansas Department of Commerce plans public sessions

The Kansas Department of Commerce plans seven free public meetings in central and western Kansas beginning next week to learn about available farm-based financial and technical assistance.

The sessions will summarize various forms of aid provided by the department's Rural Development division and its statewide partners. Topics include the Simply Kansas Trademark Program, agritourism, diversified farm and specialty production loans, and loans available for value-added ventures.

Meeting times and dates:

Dec. 11: 10 a.m. in the Dreiling Board Room, 600 Park, Fort Hays State University; 2 p.m. at the Gateway Civic Center, No. 1 Morgan Drive, Oberlin.

Dec. 12: 9 a.m. at the 4-H Building, 301 N. Main, Goodland.

Dec. 17: 10 a.m. in the Chamber Meeting Room at the Civic Center Building, 201 E. Central, El Dorado; 2 p.m. in the Municipal Building Commission Room, 117 W. Third, Pratt.

Dec. 18: 9 a.m. at the Memorial Building, 207 N. Main, Lakin; 2 p.m. at the High Plains Journal Communications Center, 1500 E. Wyatt Earp Blvd., Dodge City (RSVP for the Dodge City session by calling (620) 227-9501.
