Police who searched the house of a man who sold marijuana to an undercover officer ended up arresting his stepfather, who was smoking marijuana when they arrived.
According to police, Jeremy M. Smith, 29, 859 Sheridan, called an undercover officer and arranged to sell him marijuana in Sunset Park around 2:30 p.m. It was the third such deal this month, police said.
As Smith drove away, the vehicle he was driving was stopped and Smith was arrested on multiple counts of possession of marijuana, sale of marijuana, possession of drug proceeds and illegal use of a telephone when arranging the deals.
There were three other people in the car, and two were arrested. Justin D. Harris, 19, 849 Sheridan, was arrested after he was found to have a bag of marijuana, as well as money that allegedly had been used in drug transactions. Also arrested was Joshua R. Davis, 16, Minneapolis, for possession of marijuana and being a minor in possession of alcohol.
When police arrived to search Smith’s home at 859 Sheridan, they found Smith’s stepfather, Roscoe T. Acklin, 52, smoking marijuana. He, too, was arrested on drug charges.
