Woman arrested in connection with drug buys

A 20-year-old Bennington woman was arrested Tuesday after a confidential informant purchased methamphetamine and controlled painkillers from her on two occasions, according to Salina police.
Sierra L. Machnicki was arrested after two grams of meth and 27 Lortab pills were purchased in buys Friday and Tuesday, said Lt. Jim Norton, commander of the I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force.
Norton said the task force investigation was launched after police received a tip about illegal drug activity.

Bear, bigdog and captain are you saying your cops...(i can only assume b/c of all your KNOWLEDGE regarding this topic) But, I think not. But.... maybe some that are posting are. The dtf is not the only agency that make drug arrests. And if you're a LEO you should know that. This arrest DID NOT occur in bennington. Done with this and moving on the next forum.

someone's watching you. educate yourself. big dog is right. the i35/170 drug task force has and does bust and help out many countys. they have made bust in junction city, Harrington, lincoln, mcpherson ect. i been present at a few of those locations and seen them in action.

Salina, Kansas is messed up. One likes to focus on other peoples lives rather than fix one selves inner vice. Every one has one including the upstanding doctors and pastors of the community. The worse vise is advise and Salina should be advocating to start programs and systems that don't outcast drug users or sellers further from the thread of society. People with problems are not stains that can be bleached out of society they need to be embraced and loved just the same as anyone else. They have a new program in Seattle where they take drug dealers to school to learn a better way of life instead of taking away their life. The Salina Judicial system cannot be trusted to properly treat the growing drug problem. Salina police would have thought it was a big bust even if was just 2 grams of marijuana. I remember riding the bus with Sierra for years while growing up in Kansas. Her biggest problem was never moving away from the backwards back country.

Cap..... I know you love your loved ones but there is always a cut off point, you dont have to stop loving them just stop enabling them like alot of parents and siblings ect do. I know as a recovering addict that things can take you down but you can really never get the point across by talking to them anymore. It takes to hit ROCK BOTTOM! You might think you hit rock bottom sometimes but its not hard enough. Going to rehad is a good idea and can open eyes believe me...but only go for your self not for anyone else... doesnt work. I wish the best for her personally because she can become the person she used to be i know it! Just try hard girl and never think again that you can keep it under control because you cant....all you can do is live one day at a time and you can make it.. ALSO LOOK AT YOUR SELF SON!

To "thatonechick" If you are so concerned about the 10 commandments and being so "right" according to such things, why would it matter? I'm pretty sure I'd rather have someone HATE me for telling the TRUTH than to allow someone to kill themselves for using drugs. No, I don't know Sierra nor do I know the circumstances around this, but I do know that living "right" means telling the truth no matter who it hurts.

knowing her growing up, she had a very promising modeling career. hope she gets some help...she was such a sweet girl. never thought she would end up like this! hope she learns from this and turns her life around again!

Drugs/trulybackwards! says....
A little bit can lead to alot, their are no small amounts it all leads too a greater whole. Shun drug use,encourge rehab,if need be inform on users and dealers,the chain will someday maybe be broken,and that is far better than the lost of a loved one,to a drug,jail,or death,or someone else's death. You should value life more than seeking/booze/drugs ect.

My cousin has definitely made some bad choices but again who hasn't? I sure find it to be quite entertaining everyday I read these comments certain people place on here! Please people dont take neighborhood watch too serious when trying to solve a crime! Truth of this matter is She lived in Bennington w/ my mom, She's been on magazine covers, she was a college athlete, and worked at the hospital! She just got caught up in the wrong crowd!

There weren't 10 cops and 4-5 cars involved. You're making assumptions, and those assumptions are DEAD WRONG. And you say "just 2 grams and a few pills"... well, last time I checked, Methamphetamine residue is a felony charge. Plus, 2 grams is MORE than enough to kill a person. You obviously need to get your facts straight before making comments.

meth turns good people bad and i am glad that they busted her before she could hurt herself or anyone else any more than she already has. maybe this is what will turn her back around. several months ago this girl was a college student, a student athlete at that. It has been in just a few months that she has let these drugs do this to her. my prayers are with C and her family.

la_guera_mab13, do you not have spell check? its addict not addoct. why speak/type if you cant spell. second wow another big bust. only 2 grams thats personal stash for most addicts. these dtf agents drove 4-5 cars to bennington paid for gas and salary's for a day for 10 cops just to get 2 grams and a few pills. way to spend taxpayer money.
