Georgia woman injuried in I-70 crash

A Georgia woman was injured when she fell asleep while driving on Interstate Highway 70, west of Park, and her car drifted into the median.

Betty V. Medlin, 65, Lawrenceville, Ga., was transported to the Gove County Medical Center in Quinter, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. A hospital spokeswoman said she was not a patient there Sunday night.

Medlin's car was westbound on I-70 when it drifted into the median and struck a paved crossover at 11 a.m. Sunday about three miles west of Park in Gove County, the KHP report said. The vehicle went airborne and came to rest on its wheels in the median facing west, the report said.

Lex Medlin, 65, Lawrenceville, Ga., who was a passenger in the vehicle, also was taken to the hospital. His condition was not available.
