Two hurt in Grainfield crash
GRAINFIELD -- Two people from Florida were taken to the Logan County Hospital after their sport utility vehicle entered the ditch when a rear tire blew.
A spokeswoman at the Oakley hospital said no information could be released on the conditions of Michael F. Corky, 35, and Sherry Moreland, 34, both of New Port Richey, Fla.
According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred at 11:26 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate Highway 70 about four miles west of Grainfield. Corky was driving east when the tire blew and he lost control, entering the south ditch. The report said he tried to re-enter the road and a trailer the vehicle was towing detached, causing the vehicle to roll.
