Simpson woman, 80, killed in wreck
CONCORDIA -- A Simpson woman was fatally injured Tuesday when her car collided with a semitrailer while she was traveling north in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 81 south of Concordia.
Carol I. Rogers, 80, died as a result of the 2:20 p.m. crash about 1 1/2 miles south of Concordia, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.
Forrest R. Koob, 48, Salina, who was driving the semi, was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the report said.
