MANHATTAN -- Active listening and reaching out to others will be emphasized in a Stephens Series Caring Ministry Workshop from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church, 930 Poyntz, in Manhattan.

Registration will be at 8 a.m. and refreshments will be served.

Co-hosted by First Lutheran and First United Methodist churches, the workshop is designed to help congregations explore ways to expand their caring ministry and to enhance care-giving skills.

n CONCORDIA -- Shane Sanderson will speak at a Teens for Christ Rally at 7 tonight at the Brown Grand Theatre.

Sanderson heads the Southside Youth Outreach in St. Joseph, Mo.

The rally will be open to the public. An offering will be taken.

The group Emanation, from First Christian Church of Concordia, will provide music.

n Revival services at Central Baptist Church, 2026 Starlight, begin Sunday, with evangelist Gary Shock.

Sunday services are at 10 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The revival continues Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend for free, but offerings will be taken.

nQuail United Methodist Church, 725 Commanche, has changed its Sunday school and worship times.

Sunday school is at 11 a.m. for all ages, and worship service starts at noon. Wednesday sewing group meets between 3 and 5 p.m., and Bible study at 6:30 p.m.

n A congregational meeting will follow the Sunday worship service and a potluck chicken dinner at Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, 2508 Belmont.

Results of a survey of church members this past spring will be reviewed and discussed.

n MANKATO -- New Life Drama Company, a drama ministry, will perform at the Teens For Christ Road Rally at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at Rock Hills High School's little theater in Mankato.

The program is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted.

n Walter Plant, of Corrigan, Texas, will present a gospel concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Eighth and Grand. Plant plays the piano and is blind.

The concert is open to the public. An offering will be taken. A potluck supper will precede the concert.
