CONCORDIA -- Magician Robert Long and singer Cara Spencer will perform at a Teens for Christ Rally at 7 tonight at First Christian Church , Sixth and Cedar, in Concordia.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the TFC office at (785) 243-1154. An offering will be taken.

Belmont Boulevard Christian Church , 2508 Belmont, plans an ice cream social from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Jerry Ivey Park.

Bring a freezer of ice cream or a small cake or pie to share. There is a signup sheet at the church. Drinks will be provided.

MILTONVALE -- A centennial celebration is planned Sunday for Miltonvale Wesleyan Church.

The church is marking 100 years of ministry serving Miltonvale and people around the world, many of whom received training at Miltonvale Wesleyan Bible College from 1909 through 1972 and attended the Wesleyan church that started the same year as the college.

A special service, with District Superintendent the Rev. Ed Rotz as the speaker, will be at 10 a.m., followed at noon with a meal. Music and memories will be shared at 2 p.m.

Donna Hillis of Wichita is the featured speaker of the Staying Afloat Luncheon of the Salina Christian Women's Club, 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Salina Country Club.

Hillis is a retired nurse and a former corporate flight attendant. Her husband died 10 years ago in a plane crash. She remarried in August 2008 and gained a 16-year-old stepson.

John Ratzlaff of the Edge of Eden, a vegetable producer from the Salemsborg-Smolan area, will speak on hydroponic gardening.

Cost to attend is $11, half price for first-time visitors. Child care is free with a paid reservation, but bring a sack lunch for your child.

LINDSBORG -- Bethany Lutheran Church is celebrating its 140th anniversary Aug. 23 with a festive church service at 10 a.m., followed by a partially catered lunch.

Church memories will be shared during the "Living History" program about the church. Swedish coffee follows.

The church is at 320 N. Main in Lindsborg.

The First Presbyterian Church picnic follows the Aug. 23 worship service and continues until 1:30 p.m. at Charlie Walker's lakeside cabin. Directions are available at the church, 308 S. Eighth. The church phone number is 825-0226.

A free showing of the PG13 movie "Pay it Forward" is 6:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, 2508 Belmont.

The movie is free and open to the public.
