Church notes

n Salina's First Church of the Nazarene plans a Bake Sale Missions Fundraiser from 6 a.m. to noon today at the church, 1425 S. Ohio. For more information, call 825-1520.

n The All Saints Orthodox Church Craft Show is set for today and Sunday at the 4-H Building in Kenwood Park. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 825-9100.

n The United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church, 122 N. Eighth, plan a spaghetti feed 4:30 to 7 p.m. today. The menu features spaghetti, meat sauce, bread, relishes, drink and dessert. Carryout is available. For more information, call 825-0228. The cost is $5 for adults in advance and $6 at the door; $2.50 for children in advance, $3 at the door. Children younger than 5 may eat for no charge.

n The Sunrise Presbyterian Church Mariner Fleet plans a chili and vegetable soup supper 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the church, 825 E. Beloit.

Included on the menu are hot dogs, relishes, pie and drinks. Carryout is available.

Cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and younger. Tickets may be purchased from a Sunrise member or at the door.

Proceeds will be used for mission and equipment needs.

n "Simply His," a music group from southern Missouri, will perform a gospel concert at 6 p.m. today at Salina Seventh-day Adventist Church. The group blends traditional mountain instruments such as hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, mandolin, guitar, banjo, bowed psaltery, autoharp, upright bass and harmonica with vocal melodies. n FALUN -- The Falun Pancake Supper will be 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Falun Lutheran Church. Donations will be taken for the meal, which will consist of pancakes, sausage, sloppy joes, pie, pop, tea and coffee. Proceeds will go toward church improvements and youth projects. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide matching funds.

n "Good News Gospel Music" plans a Lenten service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Tescott United Methodist Church.

n Stations of the Cross services are 5:30 p.m. each Friday through Lent at Christ Cathedral, 138 S. Eighth.

The public is welcome.

n The One Way Youth Ministry at Fellowship Baptist Church, 11th and Prescott, plans a spaghetti dinner at 12:30 p.m. March 15.

The menu includes spaghetti, salad, rolls, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children age 12 and younger.

The dinner will be at the church, and all proceeds are to go to the One Way Youth Ministry for camp this summer.

n Freddie Brammer, of Potosi, Mo., will speak at the Salina Christian Women's Club luncheon March 17. The speech is titled "If Life is a Journey, Where in the World am I?" The luncheon is 11:30 a.m. at Salina Country Club.

Marshall Stanton will provide special music.

Cost is $11. Reservations are required by calling 643-1944. Child care is free, but mention the need when making a reservation.

The club is open to all women in Salina and the surrounding area. There are no dues.

n The Salina Bible Church Women's getaway weekend will be April 3 and 4 at Webster Conference Center, 2601 N. Ohio.

All females high school age and older are invited. Mary Englund Murphy, of Tulsa, Okla., will speak on the theme "Walking on High Hills."

Included in the weekend will be three meals, games, crafts and fellowship. The cost is $70, but if the registration is postmarked by today, there is a $10 discount. The final deadline is March 23.

n A Palm Sunday cantata set for 7 p.m. April 5 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 743 E. Magnolia.

The Ellsworth Community Choir, Redeemer Lutheran Choir and instrumental musicians from Kansas Wesleyan University will present an hour of "A Mighty Fortress," a festival of hymns.

Judy Weber, of Salina, will play the 11-rank organ, and Niki Svaty, of Ellsworth, will accompany on the piano.

Donations will be accepted and will be given to the Salina food bank.

n Micah Parker will present a message about "Trust" at 7 p.m. April 25 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 743 E. Magnolia.
