* The Women's Auxiliary of the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Kansas will be at 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Feb. 18 at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, 215 S. Chicago.
The convention is a benefit for the National Baptist Convention USA, foreign mission project. The public is invited.
* MOUNDRIDGE -- Curt Goering, senior deputy executive director for Amnesty International USA, will speak at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 19 at Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge, as part of the church's Peace Sunday activities.
Goering will take questions during the 10:40 a.m. Sunday school hour. The public is invited.
The church is at 401 18th, which is four miles west and two miles north of Moundridge.
* Mary Sharp will speak at two Methodist churches in Salina on Feb. 21 and 22 about creative ways to provide comfort and dignity to people who have dementia.
She will speak from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal; and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at University United Methodist Church, 1509 S. Santa Fe. A light meal will be served at 5 p.m. at University United Methodist Church.
The presentations are free and sponsored by the churches.
* Sunrise Presbyterian Church's annual Mariners' Chili Supper will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 25 in the multipurpose room.
The church is at the corner of Roach Street and Beloit Avenue.
The meal costs $5, or $2 for children younger than age 12. The menu includes chili, vegetable soup or a hot dog, and crackers, relishes, homemade pie, coffee or tea.
Advance tickets may be purchased from any Sunrise Mariner or the church office, and they'll be available at the door.
* McPHERSON -- Legacy Five performs at 7 p.m. March 1 at New Hope Evangelical Church, 501 Wickersham, in McPherson.
An offering will be taken.
