n Fellowship Baptist Church plans a Date Night for married and engaged couples at 7 tonight at the church, 11th and Prescott streets. The movie "Fireproof," which is rated PG, will be shown. There is no charge for the movie, but the One Way Youth Ministry will provide a concession stand and child care as a fundraiser. For more information, call the church, 823-3018.

n A Meal and a Movie is planned for 6 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 843 Lewis. The menu includes chili and vegetable soup, relishes and desserts. Popcorn will be served during the movie "Fireproof," which will be shown on a 12-foot screen. The cost is a donation.

n The Staccato Notes Federated Music Club of Salina plans a concert of Felix Mendelssohn's music, commemorating his 200th birthday, at 3 p.m. Sunday at University United Methodist Church, 1509 S. Santa Fe. Club members will perform vocal, piano and violin selections. Assisting in the program will be Tracy Dilling and Brian Pinkall, tenors, and Harry Huber, organ. The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

n CULVER -- A Sweetheart Spaghetti Dinner will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Culver United Methodist Church, prepared by the Methodist Men. A bake sale is included. The cost is a donation. For information, call 823-4739.

n Wadi Walkers, a music ministry team from Central Christian College in McPherson, will present a program at 7 p.m. Sunday at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 304 W. Grand. The program and music is based on Scripture.

The music has a distinct Jewish flavor, with many minor harmonies and a driving rhythm, complete with a shofar, tambourines and other instruments. The program is presented in front of a large backdrop showing the city of Jerusalem in the distance. The team is comprised of eight students: Ben Jones, of San Jose, Calif.; Ruth Parry, of Osaka, Japan; Justin Powers, of Wilson; Tim Schiro, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Lindsey Shaw, of McPherson; Jamie Taylor, of Topeka; Kelley Watson, of Kingwood, Texas; and Amanda Wright, of Dodge City.

n All women are invited to attend "Songs from the Heart," the Salina Christian Women's Club luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Salina Country Club. Speaker Valerie Barkley, of Topeka, will speak about "Cycles of Life." Recording artist Barbara Hartley, of Herington, will be guest vocalist. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 643-1944. Complimentary child care is available and should be requested when making reservations.

n A chicken noodle dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 21 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 111 W. Magnolia. Homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, a dinner roll, and homemade pie and cake will be served. Carry-out dinners are available. Cost is $3.50 for children 12 and younger and $6 for adults.

n CONCORDIA -- Duncan Yo-Yo champion Matt Johnson will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 during a Teens for Christ Rally at Brown Grand Theatre, Concordia. Johnson, of Wichita, has been performing since 1992. The program is free and open to the public. An offering will be taken. North Central Kansas Teens for Christ is a local, independent, nondenominational youth ministry working in a 13-county area of north-central Kansas and south-central Nebraska. n Bishop Scott Jones, Wichita, will speak at Culver and Tescott Methodist churches Feb. 22. Jones is the resident bishop of the Kansas Area of the United Methodist Church. Services begin at 9:30 a.m. at Culver and 11 a.m. at Tescott.

n LUCAS -- A Shrove Tuesday Pancake Feed will be 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Lucas. All are welcome for an offering.

n A live seminar via satellite, "Focus on Marriage," will be simulcast from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 at First Covenant Church, 2625 E. Magnolia. The seminar is designed to help people see their marriages "through the eyes of God," according to a news release, resulting in "deepened feelings, improved communication and a dynamic change in day-to-day interactions."

The cost is $69 for couples and $40 for individuals. The rate for military persons is $29.50 a couple or $17.50 for individuals. To register, call 1-877-235-0753 or visit ccn.tv/marriage. For other questions, call First Covenant Church, 823-3792.

n The Salina Bible Church Women's Getaway Weekend is April 3 to 4 at Webster Conference Center, 2601 N. Ohio.

All females high school age and older are invited. Mary Englund Murphy, of Tulsa, Okla., will speak on the theme "Walking on High Hills."

Included in the weekend are three meals, games, crafts and fellowship. The cost is $70, but if the registration is postmarked by Feb. 28, there is a $10 discount. The final deadline is March 23.
