nGrand Avenue United Methodist Church, North Eighth and West Grand streets, will present the hillbilly drama "O Savior, Where Art Thou?" at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. The public is invited.

n CONCORDIA -- North Central Kansas Teens For Christ will host the Teens For Christ Rally featuring Roger Cooper and Scenic Roots as they perform a special Family Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at the historic Brown Grand Theatre, 310 W. Sixth.

In his 35-year career, Cooper has recorded more than 15 albums. He has performed at many of the nation's Christian music festivals, Focus on the Family events and Billy Graham Crusades.

Scenic Roots is comprised of the Rogers family, of Concordia. Amber Rogers, 20, plays the fiddle, claw-hammer banjo, mandolin and hammered dulcimer and sings. Erin Rogers, 22, plays the mountain dulcimers, piano and guitar and sings harmony. She was the National Mountain Dulcimer Champion in 2004. Doug Rogers, their father, plays guitar and mandolin and sings lead and harmony.

n LINDSBORG -- Messiah Lutheran Church invites the public to sample Swedish heritage through live musical performances at its Choir Candlelight program at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Every year since 1935, Messiah Lutheran has presented a program of live music to celebrate the season of Advent and St. Lucia Day, a Swedish celebration of love and generosity.

The woodwind trio Trablas will welcome the audience with its Christmas selections from Sweden. Guest musicians from the community, including Swedish fiddler Charlotte Anderson and organist Melody Steed, will join with the Messiah senior choir in several numbers, including "Ding, Dong, Merrily on High" and John Purifoy's "Candles of Advent."

The Messiah children's choir will join in the performance. Maria Apel and Kira Haxton will sing "Lucia's Song." To finish the program, everyone will sing, including the Swedish carol "A Thousand Candles," while candles are lit around the church.

A reception will follow the candlelight program.

nRedeemer Lutheran Church will have Carols 'n Cocoa from 4 to 5 p.m. Dec. 20 at the church, 743 Magnolia.

Organist David Rankin will accompany the singers on the church's 11-rank pipe organ. A cocoa bar and cookies will follow the singing.

Participants are invited to bring canned goods or an offering to benefit the Salina Emergency Aid-Food Bank.
