3 films to be shown at Eisenhower center
Three films will be shown at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum Visitor Center Auditorium during the month of March as part of the annual Paul H. Royer Film Series.
This year's series features 1960 Academy Award nominees. Each film begins at 7 p.m. and includes free soda and popcorn. All films are free and open to the public.
The film series is sponsored by Robert H. "Hank" Royer Jr. in memory of his grandfather, who was a founding father of the Eisenhower Foundation and an Abilene High School classmate of President Eisenhower. People are asked to make reservations by calling (785) 263-6700.
The series includes:
n March 4, "The Apartment," starring Jack Lemon, Shirley MacLaine and Fred MacMurray.
n March 11, "Butterfield 8," starring Elizabeth Taylor and Laurence Harvey.
n March 18, "Never on Sunday," starring Melina Mercouri and Jules Dassin.
Fibromyalgia talk to be Thursday at KWU
Dr. Ron Hunninghake, of the Center for the Improvement of Human Functioning International in Wichita, will speak about fibromyalgia, a chronic muscular pain condition, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kansas Wesleyan University.
The event, sponsored by Community Health Seminars, will be in Room 201 of Peters Science Hall.
Hunninghake practiced at Smoky Hill Family Practice in Salina from 1982-1989. He now practices complementary medicine, which is a combination of the natural approach and the use of prescription drugs when necessary. He is chief medical officer of the Center for the Improvement of Human Functioning.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Lecture notes and literature will be available.

Bethany in Kansas event to be at inn
LINDSBORG -- A reception is planned from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swedish Country Inn in support of the Bethany in Kansas annual fund campaign.
Guests are encouraged to bring contributions or pledges for the 2010 Bethany College annual fund. Light refreshments will be served.
President Ed Leonard will give a presentation about the college and answer questions. Bethany students and staff also will be available.
Bethany in Kansas is an annual campaign, now in its 12th year, used to support yearly educational expenses, including student financial aid, classroom and library resources and salaries.
