Brown Mackie dedicates new facility

When Rocio Perea entered the occupational therapy assistant program at Brown Mackie College — Salina last year, “we had a little cabinet for storage,” she said.
Perea said students “had to pretend a lot” in learning how to help people with disabilities use washers, dryers, ovens and otherwise navigate their homes.
But in the past few weeks, the occupational therapy assistant program, along with the criminal justice and veterinary technician programs, have moved into a new home with plenty of space.
Brown Mackie had a formal grand opening Wednesday afternoon at its new location at 2525 S. Ohio, and Perea was among the students giving tours of the new facility.
