ABILENE — Two Californians were injured when their truck overturned Saturday on Interstate Highway 70, seven miles east of Abilene.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Kevin W. Healis, 45, of Fairfield, Calif., was westbound on I-70 when he choked on an unknown item of food at about 12:55 p.m. Saturday. He lost control of his vehicle, which went into the north ditch of the highway and overturned, the report said.

Healis and a passenger in the truck, Rose E. Lunceford, 54, of Sutter Creek, Calif., were taken to Memorial Hospital in Abilene. No information was available Sunday on their condition.

The driver and passenger were wearing seat belts, the report said.
