Salina woman hurt in crash in southeast Kansas

FREDONIA — Salinan Jane McMillen, 58, was taken to the Fredonia Regional Hospital Wednesday afternoon after the car in which she was a passenger rear-ended a semitrailer on Kansas Highway 39, northwest of Fredonia.
According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, Jane McMillen was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Gayle McMillen, 59.
Gayle McMillen was following the semi on K-39 when the truck slowed as it entered a cloud of smoke. The patrol reported that McMillen didn't see the truck and ran into back of it.
The crash occurred about 4 p.m., about six miles north and two miles west of Fredonia, in Wilson County in southeast Kansas.
The semi was driven by Farris Johnson, 64, Wichita. He was not injured.
Everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt.
