O'Neal: Salina could move to 2nd District

Salina would move into the 2nd Congressional District with Manhattan and Topeka under a redistricting map proposed by Kansas House Speaker Mike O’Neal, R-Hutchinson.
The map by O’Neal, chairman of the Redistricting Committee, would take Salina out of the 1st Congressional District, represented in Washington by Rep. Tim Huelskamp, a Republican.
Under O’Neal’s plan, Saline, Lincoln, Ellsworth, McPherson, Marion, Chase, Greenwood, Dickinson, Morris, Geary, Ottawa, Wabaunsee, Morris, Lyon and portions of Riley counties would move into the 2nd District, which is represented by Lynn Jenkins, also a Republican.
No other current plan to redistrict Kansas would move Salina out of the 1st District.
