Larry Pankratz, executive director of the Salina Housing Authority, was treated for a broken collarbone at Herington Medical Center Sunday afternoon after his sport utility vehicle rolled in a ditch alongside a county road in southern Dickinson County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Pankratz, 54, was driving west on 1400 Road at 4:55 p.m. when he reached to retrieve sunglasses from the floor, causing his SUV to veer into the ditch. It overturned and came to rest on the driver’s side.
Pankratz said Monday that he was returning to Salina Sunday after playing in a golf tournament in Herington. He said his SUV entered a “pretty deep ditch.”
