Prelim date set in Oberlin murder case

OBERLIN - A preliminary hearing is scheduled in February for an Oberlin man accused of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Airman 1st Class Corey Ryan Cook, 22.
The preliminary hearing for Dylan R. Coryell Jr., 24, has been set for 9 a.m. Feb. 3 in Decatur County District Court.
Cook, who had returned home to Oberlin for a visit when he was fatally shot Oct. 16, had recently graduated from the Special Forces Academy at Lackland Air Force Base.
He was to report at the end of October as part of the 823rd Special Tactics Unit out of Moody Air Force Base in Georgia.
Authorities arrested Coryell at the rural Decatur County residence where Cook was shot.
