Two Oberlin men indicted by federal grand jury

TOPEKA — An Oberlin man was armed with explosive devices when he was arrested in November in Oberlin on drug charges, according to a federal grand jury indictment.
Acting U.S. Attorney Marietta Parker announced Thursday that Darrel Lee
Ferguson, 53, has been indicted on one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and one count of unlawful possession of two destructive devices.
According to information from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, another Oberlin man, Kevin Lane Smith, 35, was charged in the case with one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The crimes are alleged to have occurred Nov. 1, in Decatur County.
