Morris announces candidacy for House

Gerrett Morris, of Salina, announced Saturday his intention to seek election to represent the 69th District in the Kansas House of Representatives.

The seat currently is held by Deena Horst, a Republican.

Morris, a Democrat, has lived in the 69th District for nine years. He was graduated from Southeast of Saline High School in 1995 and holds an associate degree in horticulture from Cloud County Community College.

Morris serves as chairman of the Salina Tree Advisory Board and as president of the Saline County Young Democrats. He is a member of Falun Lutheran Church.

Morris has been employed by Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure for 10 years. He currently is landscape supervisor.
