MINNEAPOLIS — Fire early Friday morning destroyed a building in downtown Minneapolis, but firefighters spared structures on either side of it.
John Wilson, owner of the Minneapolis Messenger newspaper, said the fire occurred at the Kirn Kraft building at 107 N. Concord, just across the street from the newspaper office.
The building, which is south of the city’s main street, formerly housed a custom maker of pickup toppers, Wilson said. It was being used for storage, he said.
Minneapolis city and fire officials were not immediately available.
Wilson said an investigator from the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s office was expected late Friday morning to look into what caused the fire.
