Learning opportunities

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University course begins at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at Emmanuel Christian Center, 1325 E. Cloud.

Through the 13-week course, students are taught practical steps to get out of debt and plan for the future.

Students will watch DVD lessons led by author and radio host Dave Ramsey. Topics include making a household budget, getting out of debt and making smart purchases.

Linda Sutton of the North Central Kansas Small Business Development Center will teach several workshops in Salina and Concordia in February. To register, call (785) 243-9913. All workshops require advance registration and only those pre-registered will be notified of cancellation. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance.

The workshop schedule is:

*Meeting the 3Ms, 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 14, North Central Kansas Small Business Development Center, 606 Washington, Concordia; 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 16, Salina Area Chamber of Commerce, 120 W. Ash.

* The Right Start Using a Business Plan, 1-3 p.m. Feb. 16, Salina Area Chamber of Commerce.

* Cash Flow Made Easy, 1-3 p.m. Feb. 14, NCK Small Business Development Center, Concordia.

The CLASS Program at Salina Public Library offers courses to people ages 16 and older. All classes require advance enrollment. For information, visit salinapubliclibrary.org or drop by the Community Learning Center, 308 W. Elm between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

*Beginning Spanish, 6-8 p.m. Mondays, today through March 1, Salina Public Library, Technology Center Conference Room.
