3 Gypsum residents hurt in car-semi crash

MINNEOLA — Three Gypsum residents were among five people injured Sunday when a car and a semitrailer collided in southwest Kansas.
Those injured in the car were Paul E. Daniels, 26, Paula E. Daniels, 53, and Levi Daniels, 7, all of Gypsum; and Ben S. Ediger, 32, of Tempe, Ariz. They were taken to Minneola District Hospital following the crash, which occurred at 2:08 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 54 and 118th Road in Ford County, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.
Tommy L. Gott, 49, of Wichita, the driver of the semi, also was taken to the hospital.
A hospital spokesman said no information could be released about the injured people.
According to the patrol report, all of those involved were wearing seat belts.
