Ellsworth teens located and returned home

2/2/2012

ELLSWORTH - Two Ellsworth County teens who ran away from home in mid-January have been found in Wichita and returned home.
Connor Creech, 16, of Kanopolis, and Katelyn McKinney, 13, of Ellsworth, were last seen in Ellsworth Jan. 16, when it’s believed they took a white 1998 Saturn with a temporary tag and a credit card belonging to one of Creech’s relatives.
Ellsworth Police Chief David Smith said the pair were believed to have been staying with a friend on Wichita’s west side, and were spotted by relatives at Towne West Mall in Wichita within days of disappearing. Attempts to use the stolen credit card in west Wichita were also recorded.
Smith said Creech’s grandfather spotted the two teens late Tuesday at a Wal-Mart in west Wichita, and called him; Smith told him to call 911 and get the Wichita police involved.
