Smolan man arrested for thefts at 2 apartments

A Smolan man was arrested Monday, accused of stealing money from two
apartments at Eaglecrest Retirement Community, 1501 E. Magnolia.
Staff at the facility found David D. Ryals, 37, exiting an apartment
Nov. 29, and upon review of video surveillance footage found that he had
entered other apartments where cash was found missing, said Lt. Scott
Siemsen, criminal investigation commander with the Salina Police
Department.
Ryals was arrested on a warrant for two counts of burglary, two counts
of theft and criminal trespassing on Monday, Siemsen said.
Ryals is accused of entering a total of four apartments and taking $300
from one and $70 from another. The money was not recovered, Siemsen
said.
