Reception set for two commissioners

Because of a lack of items requiring official action, Saline County commissioners will not have a formal meeting Tuesday.

However, commissioners will meet informally from 9 a.m. until business is concluded Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Room 209 of the City-County Building. All sessions are open to the public.

A public reception is planned for outgoing commissioners Craig Stephenson and Sherri Barragree from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday in Room 109 of the City-County Building. Stephenson and Barragree were defeated in their re-election bids by Jerry Fowler and John Reynolds. The new commissioners take office in January.

Also, county offices will be closed Thursday for New Year's Day.
