Railroad crossings, stimulus projects tabbed for county commission agenda
County to look at railroad crossings
County Engineer Neil Cable is scheduled to meet with Saline County commissioners Tuesday to discuss a plan by the Kansas Department of Transportation to upgrade railroad crossings in Saline County.
The KDOT plan includes upgrading non-signaled crossings in Osborne, Lincoln, Mitchell and Saline counties with crossbuck signs, advance warning signs and pavement markings. Money would come from the state.
The county commission meets in formal session at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Room 107 of the City-County Building.
Other items on the agenda include a discussion of possible projects to be funded from the economic stimulus plan passed in February by Congress. Saline County is eligible to compete for a share of $4 million allocated to the North Central Kansas KDOT District.
The commission also will be in session to conduct regular business from 8:45 a.m. to noon, and from 1:30 p.m. until business is concluded Tuesday in Room 209. All sessions, except executive sessions, are open to the public.
