SIMPSON — Folks around here are wondering what sent law enforcement to the home of Cheryl and Doyle Rogers Saturday night, and why there were still many vehicles there Tuesday.
Cloud County Sheriff Brian Marks confirmed that deputies were sent to a rural Cloud County home Saturday, “where a white female, 30, had died,” the release reads.
The cause of death, name of the deceased and other circumstances “are currently an ongoing investigation,” a sheriff’s department spokeswoman read over the phone Tuesday afternoon. “Further information will be released as authorized.”
Neighbors reported seeing lights on emergency vehicles flashing at the Rogers’ home about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, said Tony Prochaska, owner of Trapper’s Bar & Grill in Simpson.
The Rogers home is in western Cloud County, about two miles southeast of Simpson, a tiny town in eastern Mitchell County.
“There’s been a few asking questions,” Prochaska said.
