Money available for child care, professional development
Child Care Aware of Kansas has announced it has more than $900,000 in federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to be used for childhood quality grants and professional development scholarships.
Funds will be available to licensed child care centers, after-school programs and programs that care for or plan to care for children with special needs, according to Leadell Ediger, executive director.
Child care providers may submit grant applications for requests of up to $5,000 for equipment and materials. Child care centers may request up to $10,000 in grant funding. In addition, scholarships will be offered to child care providers to assist in paying for professional development.
