Almena woman injured in crash

NORTON - An Almena woman was injured Thursday when her sport utility vehicle was struck by a car in Almena.
Niki D. Kinderknecht, 35, was taken to the Norton County Hospital. The wreck occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Kansas Highway 383, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. A hospital spokeswoman could not be reached Friday for a report on her condition.
According to the KHP report, Kinderknecht’s SUV was struck by a car driven by Darrell L. Moore, 41, Almena, after Moore’s car entered the ditch, returned to the road and crossed the center line. Moore was not injured, the report said.
Kinderknecht was wearing a seat belt, and Moore was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
