Meeting about veterans' issues tonight

Tom Sanders, director of the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita, will hold meetings for veterans in Salina and Hays today.

The Hays Town Hall Meeting will be held at 1 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9076, 2106 Vine.

The Salina Town Hall Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at American Legion Post 704, 142 S. Seventh.

Sanders will be joined by staff members from congressional offices and veterans service organizations. Discussions will cover the future plans for the VA, the enrollment process, eligibility issues and other items of interest to veterans.

Seasonal flu vaccinations also will be given to veterans who attend the events. Valid VA identification cards must be presented to receive the flu shots. The shots are for the seasonal flu, not the H1N1 virus.
