Free skin cancer screening planned
The Tammy Walker Cancer Center, 511 S. Santa Fe, is hosting a free skin cancer screening clinic from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 23.
Most skin cancers, including melanoma, are curable if detected early. About 1 million new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed each year in the United States, making it the most common type of cancer found.
Appointments are required by calling 452-7037 and space is limited. Doctors from the Smoky Hill Family Medicine residency program and Heartland Cosmetic Surgery will evaluate patients.
