Concordia college to break ground for wind turbines

CONCORDIA -- There will be a groundbreaking at 9 a.m. Tuesday on the Concordia campus of Cloud County Community College for the installation of two Northwind 100kw wind turbines and the creation of a three-turbine wind farm on the campus.

The public is invited. The college will provide a bus from College Drive to the Cloud County Community College hilltop beginning at 8:30 a.m., from Parking Lot No. 1 near the Welcome Center.

The name for the wind farm, selected by college faculty and staff, will be revealed during the ceremony. After the ceremony, refreshments will be served in the Welcome Center.
