Fort Hays State University's annual Student Recognition Program starts this week, with stops throughout Kansas and in Colorado and Nebraska.

The events are intended to recognize scholarship recipients and to give students and parents an opportunity to learn more about Fort Hays State University.

Fort Hays alumni and other community members also are invited to attend the events.

Events in north-central and northwest Kansas are:

Hays

The event will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Fort Hays State University Memorial Union, for students from Ellis and Trego counties, and LaCrosse, Natoma, Plainville and Ransom. Deadline to register is Feb. 2.

Phillipsburg

The event will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Huck Boyd Community Center, for students from Norton, Phillips, Smith and Graham counties, and the Stockton and Palco areas. Registration deadline is Feb. 6.

Beloit

The event will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Severance Student Union at North Central Kansas Technical College, for students in Cloud, Jewell, Lincoln, Mitchell, Republic and Washington counties, areas around Osborne and Downs, and adjacent counties in Nebraska. Registration deadline is Feb. 13.

Salina

The event will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at Lakewood Middle School, for students in Saline, Chase, Clay, Dickinson, Ellsworth, Marion, McPherson and Ottawa counties. Registration deadline is Feb. 15.

Great Bend

The event will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Highland Hotel, for students in Barton, Pawnee, Pratt, Rice, Russell and Stafford counties, and areas around Bison and Otis. Registration deadline is Feb. 16.

Colby

The event will be at 6:30 p.m. March 5 at Colby Senior High School, for students in Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Logan, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman and Thomas counties, and adjacent areas in Colorado and Nebraska. Registration deadline is March 1.
